Software Safety Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Safety Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our software systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply safety engineering principles and methodologies to identify and mitigate hazards in software systems
  • Develop and maintain safety requirements and design specifications for software systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into software development
  • Analyze and recommend safety-critical software design and implementation
  • Develop and maintain safety-related documentation and reports
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (e.g., computer science, software engineering) with 5+ years of experience or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher
  • Experience with safety engineering principles and methodologies (e.g., MIL-STD-882, DO-178B/C)
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with safety-critical software development and testing
  • Knowledge of software safety standards and regulations (e.g., DO-254, ARP-4754)
  • Experience with Agile software development tools and methodologies
