We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a Custodian II, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and maintain floor care, restroom care, bedroom care, nurses' station, and isolation areas in accordance with established procedures and safety measures.
- Maintain and clean the interior and exterior of assigned buildings, reporting needed repairs and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Train and coach other custodians as needed, and provide documentation of any training conducted.
- Inspect assigned buildings and areas for cleanliness, completed work, and needed minor repairs, and perform minor maintenance.
- Complete documentation in an accurate and timely manner, protecting confidential information and maintaining inventory and equipment records.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, standards, and sanitation regulations.
- Knowledge of infection control principles and methods.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods.
- Skill in use of custodial equipment, materials, and the safe handling of chemicals.
- Skill in use and maintenance of building maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to train others.
- Ability to supervise the work of others.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods.
- Ability to work harmoniously and productively with co-workers and residents.
- Ability to work irregular hours.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The successful candidate will be able to work harmoniously and productively with co-workers and residents, and will be able to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods.
