Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team at Altru Health. As a Medical Surgical Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, assessing and evaluating patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Monitor patients' conditions, identifying and responding to changes in their status, and communicating effectively with healthcare teams.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to educate and empower them to manage their health and make informed decisions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in North Dakota or Compact State Agreement.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and bending.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and bending, with occasional lifting and pushing/pulling. The work environment is primarily indoor, with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
