We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Day Habilitation Specialist to join our team at ACLD. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

About the Role

This position involves working in a dynamic day hab setting, providing structure and emotional support to individuals with varying levels of need. As a Day Habilitation Specialist, you will assist participants in achieving their personal goals, provide daily living skills training, and promote independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist program participants in developing and implementing personalized plans to achieve their goals
  • Provide support with daily living tasks, such as personal hygiene and meal preparation
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve behavioral issues and promote a positive environment
  • Transport participants to and from activities using agency vehicles

To be successful in this role, you will require strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy. You will also need to possess a valid NYS driver's license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and some experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population (though training is provided).
