About the Role

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Property Risk Engineering Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Property Risk Engineering team, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating risks for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Field Risk Engineering: Conduct on-site risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Customer Service: Develop and implement customer service strategies to reduce losses and improve customer operations.
  • Engineering Support: Provide engineering support to our underwriting team by attending client and broker meetings.
  • Field Engineering Services: Perform field engineering services where necessary, primarily for larger locations on accounts and/or prospects within the region.
  • Advanced Property Consultative Services: Deliver advanced property consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigating the cause/effect of major losses, and developing property management programs.
  • Marketing and Sales: Assist in marketing Zurich risk transfer insurance products in conjunction with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, fire science, or a related degree.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in property risk engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Skills: Strong communication and consultative skills, outstanding collaborative skills, and a high degree of proficiency in PC and MS-Office software.
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Engineering Background: A degree in engineering, fire science, or a related field.
  • HPR Property Experience: Experience working with highly protected risk (HPR) property.
  • Property Loss Control/Risk Engineering Experience: Experience in property loss control/risk engineering within the insurance industry.
  • Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS): Certification as a fire protection specialist.
