Fabricator and Welder Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Fabricator and Welder Specialist to join our team in Panama City, FL. As a key member of our shipyard operations, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality fabrications and welds that meet the strictest standards.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, with a minimum of one to three years of experience working with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum materials. They will possess excellent knowledge of safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and ABS certification requirements.
A critical aspect of this role is the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with other crafts as instructed by supervision. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, able to work at heights above 50 feet, and withstand extreme temperatures.
Key Responsibilities:- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts according to specifications
- Weld components in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead)
- Examine welds for adherence to specifications, including bead size and other details
- Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances using precision measuring instruments
- Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment
- 1-3 years of experience as a flux core arc welder
- Detailed knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques for fitting and welding steel and other materials
- Familiarity with ship terminology, welding symbols, safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and ABS certification requirements
