Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in implementing safety initiatives and conducting training programs for our personnel across various projects. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure a safe working environment in compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and uphold safety policies and procedures at job sites and fabrication facilities.
- Conduct thorough site safety assessments and document findings.
- Facilitate New Hire Orientation sessions focused on safety protocols.
- Deliver live training for Competent Persons in areas such as Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Excavation.
- Maintain up-to-date safety documentation and records.
- Ensure adherence to safety programs and policies across all operations.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Promote a culture of safety through effective coaching and mentoring.
- Be present during high-risk activities to provide guidance and support.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in construction safety management for large-scale projects.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 5 years of relevant safety experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA and Cal-OSHA regulations.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Proficient in Office 365 applications.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- OSHA 500 Certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
- First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills with the Company Loss Control Team.
