ROLE SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Middle School Educator in Global Studies and Science will be tasked with the successful execution of the following responsibilities:
- Developing challenging, PA Core standards-aligned lessons tailored to the content and practices of Global Studies and Science.
- Planning engaging class activities, including the preparation of units and daily lesson plans, identifying necessary materials, creating class projects, providing constructive feedback to students to ensure mastery of the material, and timely grading of assessments.
- Establishing and articulating clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
- Fostering positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Facilitating learning in both small and large group settings.
- Monitoring and assessing student academic progress.
- Participating in professional meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops to enhance professional skills.
- Identifying the educational needs of students and adapting instruction accordingly.
- Maintaining regular communication with parents regarding schedules, assignments, events, and individual student needs, including meetings during scheduled conferences throughout the academic year.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in the field of education is required.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES A current teaching license (Grades 4-8 Social Studies/Science) is preferred for the middle school educator.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Initial salary offers for this role range from $50,000 to $75,000, determined by an equitable compensation scale that considers years of experience and educational qualifications.
