About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch patient care by providing essential anesthesia support during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organize equipment and supplies for scheduled and emergent cases in anesthetizing locations, ensuring that anesthesia staff have the necessary equipment and supplies for routine and challenging cases.
  • Transport and set up equipment needed for procedures, including laryngoscope blades, monitors, EKG cables, ETCO2 lines, pulse oximetry cables, temperature cables, and oxygen tanks/tubing, and ensure that equipment is decontaminated and in good working condition before each procedure.
  • Follow department procedures for proper procurement and handling of non-controlled medications, I.V. fluids, contrast media, and irrigating fluids in the surgical services area.
  • Perform thorough, prompt room turnover between procedures, including cleaning and disinfection, restocking of anesthesia supplies, and cleaning/storing of anesthesia equipment and instrumentation as needed.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot minor malfunctions of anesthesia equipment, remove and report all damaged or unsafe equipment, and respond promptly to on-call situations as scheduled.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Certified Anesthesia Tech Preferred
  • BLS Certification required
  • 1-2 Years' experience of related work as Anesthesia Tech
