Job Summary:

As a Speech Language Pathologist at Providence, you will provide direct patient care services, including evaluation, assessment, treatment planning, and program development. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate services and provide patient, family, peer, and community education. Our team is dedicated to providing patient-focused, whole-person care, and we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess patients to determine their communication and swallowing needs.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address patients' communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers to promote effective communication and swallowing strategies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate services and ensure comprehensive care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Education to commensurate with the requirements needed to successfully pursue a license as a Speech Pathologist in the State of California.
  • California Speech Language Pathologist License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • 4 months experience in providing direct patient care. Internships are acceptable to meet this requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training in Dysphagia Evaluation procedures required to perform a Modified Barium Swallow Study.
  • Graduate of an ASHA accredited school of speech-language pathology and audiology.
  • 6 months experience in any capacity in an acute care hospital.
  • 6 months experience as an employee in a speech therapy environment.
