Job Title: Co-Occurring TherapistJob Summary

Bridgeway Community Health is seeking a qualified Co-Occurring Therapist to join our team in the Medically Managed Withdrawal (Detox) department. As a Co-Occurring Therapist, you will provide dual diagnosis enhanced services using stage-of-change specific interventions with individualized outcomes focusing on reducing symptoms related to mental health and substance abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct integrated assessments, including screening for the presence of substance use, problem gambling, mental health conditions, and chronic medical conditions, as well as the presence of systems-related trauma using ASAM criteria and DSM.
  • Utilize assessment tools or data in the evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge process, including cognitive-behavioral interventions, motivational interventions, and healthy relationships education.
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
  • Counsel clients in individual and group counseling sessions. Individual sessions may periodically include family members or support people.
  • Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with and supporting clients.
  • Collect information about clients through interviews, observations, and collateral information.
  • Act as client advocate in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based, client-centered treatment plans that address mental health and substance use.
  • Document relevant treatment reviews, progress notes, status reports, coordination of services, and discharge summaries.
  • Meet with families, probation officers, police, and other interested parties to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
  • Observe urinalysis testing and complete the chain of custody documentation.
  • Gather information about community mental health services and resources that could be used with therapy.
  • Complete discharge paperwork, including discharge plan completed with the client.
Requirements
  • Requires QMHP with a graduate degree in psychology, social work, or a behavioral science field from an accredited college or university.
  • CADC certification or ability and willingness to achieve CADC within 12 months of hire. Successful candidates for these positions will receive assistance in obtaining their CADC if they do not already have it.
  • Experience in the treatment of addictions is strongly preferred.
  • In addition, the experience must demonstrate the ability to conduct an assessment, including identifying precipitating events, gathering histories of mental and physical health, substance use, past mental health services, and criminal justice contacts; assessing family, cultural, social, and work relationships; conducting a mental status examination; complete a DSM diagnosis; write and supervise the implementation of a service/treatment plan; and provide individual, family or group therapy within the scope of their training.

Compensation
  • DOE: $30 - $35 per hour
  • An additional stipend is available for Spanish/English bilingual employees.
