Job Summary

The United Surgical Partners International Inc (USPI) Operating Room Nurse PRN is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the perioperative setting. This role requires a skilled and compassionate nurse to work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to adult patients, including older adults and pediatric patients, in the operating room and post-anesthesia care unit.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient surgical procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and clean environment in the operating room and post-anesthesia care unit.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Minimum two years of previous operating room experience.
  • Current Maryland license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current certification in CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures specific to operating room nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records and other healthcare technology.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
