Job Summary
The United Surgical Partners International Inc (USPI) Operating Room Nurse PRN is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the perioperative setting. This role requires a skilled and compassionate nurse to work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult patients, including older adults and pediatric patients, in the operating room and post-anesthesia care unit.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient surgical procedures.
- Monitor and maintain a safe and clean environment in the operating room and post-anesthesia care unit.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Minimum two years of previous operating room experience.
- Current Maryland license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current certification in CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
- Ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures specific to operating room nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records and other healthcare technology.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
