Primary Care Support Specialist Job Description

As a Primary Care Support Specialist at Grand Itasca, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our clinical team and patients.


About the Position

  • This is a temporary full-time position, approximately six months long, with opportunities to work up to 80 hours per pay period.
  • You will be based on-site at our clinic and hospital in Grand Rapids.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to support our clinical team by preparing patients for appointments, communicating with them before their visit, and guiding them through the care process.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, visitors, coworkers, and other departmental representatives.
  2. Prepare patients for their appointments, including communicating with patients prior to their appointment to ensure medical records are collected and ready for the visit.
  3. Prepare exam rooms and stocks supplies.
  4. Be a vital piece in the patient and provider connection ensuring patients and providers have a great experience.

Requirements

  • You must be 18 years old or older.
  • A graduate of a Nursing Aide program, Emergency Medical Technical (EMT) program, or Health Unit Coordinator program is preferred.
  • BLS certification or the ability to obtain it within two months of hire is required.
  • Minimum one year of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Proficient in technology, including computer hardware and programs, and smart devices.

Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this role is around $40,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
