Job Summary

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Facilities and Operations to join our team. This is a full-time staff position that will report to the department of Facilities, Energy Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational leadership of the maintenance compliance program for UHealth/MSOM facilities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of maintenance compliance programs for normal and emergency electrical systems associated with UHealth/MSOM facilities.
  • Direct contract management functions with outside vendors in the execution of their awarded services and programs.
  • Work closely with the UHealth/MSOM compliance department to support, review, and implement maintenance programs in response to risk assessment results for systems and/or equipment.
  • Ensure appropriate record-keeping for the assigned programs.
  • Review and request all budgeting/accounting aspects related to compliance maintenance services.
  • Support all aspects of the facilities and operations department efforts and activities for his/her assigned areas(s).
  • Support emergency preparedness activities up to and including being on campus before, during, and after an emergency performing duties outside the functions described herein.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate, and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
