The Prisma Health Physician is responsible for providing quality medical services to patients in a professional and compassionate manner.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Diagnose, prevent, or treat diseases, defects, or injuries, and recommend or prescribe treatments for physical, mental, or functional ailments or defects.
  • Rend medical treatment to patients consistent with generally accepted professional standards of care without regard to their ability to pay for such treatment or their personal characteristics.
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and timely records of all medical examinations and procedures, using Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases codes.
  • Provide after-hours call coverage equally with other physicians of the Practice, unless otherwise agreed upon.
  • Comply with standards of accepted medical practice, managed care organizations' rules and regulations, and payors' requirements, including Medicare and Medicaid (except where these conflict with the Physician's professional medical judgment).
  • Maintain sufficient continuing medical education to meet certification and state licensing board requirements.
  • Agree to participate in non-revenue generating activities that advance the Vision and Mission of Prisma Health, such as serving on committees, community outreach, teaching, research, and other activities determined by the Department Chair.
  • Participate in responding to requests for proposals for managed care contracts.
  • Contribute to the establishment of quality assurance programs, utilization management programs, patient education services, and patient satisfaction programs.
  • Assist Employer in obtaining and maintaining licenses, permits, and authorizations, and achieving applicable accreditation standards related to the Physician's Practice or Department.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
  • Successful completion of residency, Board Certification, or Board Eligibility, and Medical Staff Privileges.
  • A South Carolina Medical License, South Carolina Controlled Substance License, and Drug Enforcement Agency Number.
  • Basic computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, mathematical skills, and specialty-specific skills.

This is a variable-shift position working in a hospital setting, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care. The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
