The individual in this role will oversee personnel within the Transportation Division and execute supervisory functions in alignment with the organization's guidelines and relevant regulations.
This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring staff; organizing, delegating, and supervising tasks; evaluating employee performance; administering rewards and disciplinary actions; addressing grievances; and resolving operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the safety standards, operational procedures, and financial efficiency of the site.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and ensure service quality aligns with contractual obligations.
- Support railcar-switching operations as necessary.
- Lead and supervise crews ranging from 15 to 22 personnel, including scheduling and management of staff.
- Maintain payroll within budgetary constraints.
- Conduct operational efficiency assessments and tests in accordance with company protocols.
- Investigate incidents (such as derailments and injuries) and compile relevant reports.
- Recruit and train new staff to fill open positions, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company standards; implement disciplinary measures as required.
- Assist with various projects and undertake additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum of five years of experience in the railroad sector with supervisory responsibilities; seven years preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of FRA regulations is essential.
Education and Credentials
A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
A valid driver's license is necessary.
Prior experience in Railroad Freight/Transportation is mandatory.
