Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Substitute Custodian to join our team at the California Department of Education. As a Substitute Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and disinfect classrooms, restrooms, and common areas, including desks, chairs, floors, and surfaces.
  • Empty trash and recyclables, and replace liners in trash cans.
  • Restock paper products, soap, and toilet paper in restrooms.
  • Report any maintenance or custodial issues to the Head Custodian.
  • Lock and secure doors and gates, and set alarms as needed.
Work Schedule

As a Substitute Custodian, you will work a varied schedule, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. You will be required to work a minimum of 2 hours per day, with breaks in between.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
