ASL Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher to join our team at SANY's Utica Academy of Science Charter School, Junior-Senior High School (UASCS JSHS). The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to providing high-quality education to students in grades 6-12.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the charter's curriculum requirements
• Collaborate with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods
• Prepare students for standardized tests relevant to the content area
• Utilize analytics and data to drive instruction and promote learning
• Provide regular feedback and accountability to students and staff
• Manage classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• New York State Certification required
• Experience working with diverse student populations or in urban settings is a plus
• Prior teaching experience is preferred, but novice teachers are encouraged to apply
• Fingerprint clearance through the NYS Department of Education
