ASL Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified ASL Instructor to join our team at Science Academies of NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in American Sign Language and a passion for teaching.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of students with varying learning styles and abilities
• Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement curriculum that aligns with state and national standards
• Provide individualized support to students to ensure they meet their academic goals
• Stay current with best practices in Deaf education and incorporate new methods and technologies into the classroom

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• NY State Certification in Deaf Education or related field
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
