Position Summary:

The Yard Operations Manager (YOM) is accountable to the Senior Technical Manager and plays a pivotal role in supporting regional operations. The YOM collaborates closely with the operations team to ensure that objectives are met in alignment with the Company's procedural standards. This role involves leading and overseeing a diverse team of personnel based on operational and project demands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all material and equipment transactions within the region, ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Initiate Capital Project Requests (CPRs) for necessary equipment as required.
  • Develop and implement inventory management processes to maintain accurate equipment status, location, and availability.
  • Maintain and report on material and equipment records utilizing Oracle EBS.
  • Foster collaborative efforts by sharing insights, effective processes, and best practices with peers across the region and Company.
  • Monitor and report on adherence to equipment certification standards.
  • Ensure the safe operation, maintenance, and inspection of Company-owned equipment in the yard, adhering to Company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized yard work site in accordance with Company standards.
  • Conduct monthly inspections and audits of the Shop, Yard, and Office, ensuring timely resolution of any non-conformities.
  • Implement and update processes to maintain consistent inventory control of all assets.
  • Conduct rig and yard inventories for the Region, ensuring validation and reconciliation of materials both physically and within the systems.
  • Initiate billing processes for lost or downgraded equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate physical and electronic counts for tubular inventory as movements occur.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to navigate drilling rig work sites safely, including walking, climbing, and standing in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to drilling rig sites, which may involve extended stays in remote locations.
  • Capability to lift and carry 20 pounds independently on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl during field visits.
  • Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools for mechanical tasks.
  • Strong visual acuity to monitor work activities and identify potential issues.
  • Excellent auditory skills to detect equipment malfunctions.
  • Ability to recall information accurately over short and long periods.
  • Strong spatial awareness to navigate a dynamic work environment safely.
  • Capacity to remain focused during extended work hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

2+ years of experience with oil field equipment and familiarity with maintenance repair facilities.

Eligibility to drive a company vehicle in accordance with the driving policy.

Proximity to the yard or willingness to relocate as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.

5+ years of experience in oil field services or a related industry.

2+ years of experience with Oracle Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) or similar applications.

Previous managerial experience in a relevant field.

Experience in maintenance and asset management systems.

Background in purchasing or shipping and receiving.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment:

This role requires working in both office settings and outdoor environments under various weather conditions. The YOM must prioritize safety for themselves and others, including coworkers and external parties. Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of yard technicians to support regional operations and project needs.
