The Nutritional Services Technician plays a crucial role in Nutrition and Dining by engaging directly with residents and their families to ensure the delivery of high-quality meals tailored to individual preferences. This position involves regular collaboration with Registered Dietitians to address the nutritional needs of residents, working in conjunction with the food service team, and adhering to all regulatory standards set by local, state, and federal authorities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial, quarterly, and annual assessments for residents.
  • Participate in resident Care Conferences alongside interdisciplinary staff, residents, and their families.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in food service management software and electronic medical records.
  • Document significant weight changes in residents accurately.
  • Ensure resident and family satisfaction through direct engagement.
  • Maintain active certification through ongoing education.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and clinical care procedures in compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Exhibit effective communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification from the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP).
  • An Associate's Degree or completion of an ANFP-accredited training program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics is preferred.
  • One year of experience in either acute or long-term healthcare settings is highly desirable.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform various physical tasks.
  • Potential exposure to extreme temperatures and noisy environments.
  • Work may involve wet and slippery surfaces and handling sharp objects.

Work Environment:

  • Onsite work at designated healthcare facilities.
  • Part-time day shifts with occasional travel to other locations as needed.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage ranging from $21.83 to $26.63.
