We are currently looking for a qualified and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Clinical Simulation Instructor at our Philadelphia campus.
POSITION TITLE: Clinical Simulation Instructor
OVERVIEW:
The Clinical Simulation Instructor will report to the Manager of Clinical Simulation and will work on a per diem basis as determined by the Site Managers. Responsibilities will include instructing clinical skills, conducting AHA courses, facilitating debriefings, managing simulations, and performing other assigned tasks.
This position may require travel to other campuses as necessary.
The objective of the PCOM Simulation Centers is to utilize cutting-edge simulation technologies to provide a comprehensive educational experience. Our mission is to improve the quality of education and skill verification through an integrated, proficiency-based curriculum.
FACILITIES:
The PCOM Simulation Center features an Operating Room, Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, Obstetrics/Gynecology suite, OSCE Suites, adaptable high-fidelity rooms, laparoscopic training area, classrooms, task training skills labs, and various virtual reality trainers.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Instruction:
* Deliver lab instruction for clinical skills such as intubation, IV access, central lines, suturing, etc. (within the scope of practice)
* Operate mannequins to run pre-programmed scenarios in collaboration with faculty instructors, ensuring all equipment is prepared for course programs.
* Assist or lead debriefing sessions using PCOM-approved debriefing models.
* Provide lab instruction for various AHA courses.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Bachelor's Degree in a Health Care Field (preferred).
* Master's Degree in Medical Simulation (preferred).
Experience:
* Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical simulation required.
* Proficient in computer usage.
* At least 3 years of practical experience as a healthcare provider (paramedic, nurse, or higher).
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:
* Professional certification or license in a healthcare-related field (required).
* Licensed healthcare provider in the state of Pennsylvania or Georgia (required).
* AHA - ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Provider (preferred), Instructor (preferred).
* AHA - BLS - Basic Life Support - Provider (required), Instructor (preferred).
* AHA - PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred).
* CHSE - Certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator (preferred).
