We are seeking a skilled Dialysis Technician to join our team at HealthAlliance Hospital. As a Dialysis Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate, monitor, and terminate hemodialysis treatments under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Ensure patient safety through recognition and appropriate response to emergency situations.
- Perform and document ongoing care of the dialysis patient, participating in established patient care plans and ongoing educational needs.
- Participate in patient and/or family conferences and serve as a patient advocate.
- Assist with data collection and monitoring for quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide feedback to the RN/LPN regarding observations of patient care.
- Maintain a clean environment and adhere to infection control practices in the dialysis unit.
- Act as a preceptor to new dialysis technicians.
- Minimum 1 year of hospital or dialysis experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- BLS certification.
- National Dialysis Technician certification within 18 months of hire.
