About the Role:

We are seeking a Pharmacist Intern to join our team at Optum, part of the UnitedHealth Group family of companies. As a Pharmacist Intern, you will work as part of Genoa Healthcare, a pharmacy care services company that serves behavioral health and addiction treatment communities.

Job Summary:

The Pharmacist Intern will be responsible for distributing prescribed medications, providing information to customers about medications and their use, performing clerical duties such as filing patient records and processing insurance claims, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws of the applicable State Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Distribute drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners">
  • Provide information to customers about medications and their use">
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing patient records and processing insurance claims">
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws of the applicable State Board of Pharmacy">
  • Administration of immunizations as allowed by state boards of pharmacy">
  • Any other usual and customary pharmacy duties">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • Currently enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy program, with first professional year (P1) completed before start of internship">
  • Active Licensure as a pharmacist intern in state of Texas">
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization">
  • Preferred qualifications: 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA, Completion of at least one Therapeutics Course, Knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology, Proven adequate mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills, Proven solid oral and written communication skills">

Salary:

$75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and location
