Job Summary:

This is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced Pediatric Acute Care Physician Assistant to join the esteemed Pediatric Critical Care team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. As a critical member of our multidisciplinary health care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support in our 14-bed King of Prussia Hospital PICU and partially working out of our Philadelphia Main Hospital 75-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.



About the Role:
  • You will assess complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients for urgent and emergent conditions, utilizing relevant data to evaluate physiologic instability and formulate a plan of care.
  • Perform therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health problems, adhering to the Scope of Practice Document and approved as part of the credentialing/privileging process.
  • Analyze indications, contraindications, risk of complications, and cost-benefits of therapeutic interventions.
  • Manage the plan of care through evaluation, modification, and documentation according to the patient's response to therapy, optimizing patient outcomes.
  • Incorporate health promotion, health protection, and injury prevention measures into the plan of care within the context of complex acute, critical, and chronic illness.
  • Facilitate patient transitions between and within healthcare settings.
  • Serve as an educational resource to the patient/family, nursing staff, and provider team, acting as a consultant to multidisciplinary healthcare team members.

Education Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree Physician Assistant Required
  • Master's Degree Physician Assistant Preferred

Salary Information:
The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure may vary based on individual circumstances and does not include additional compensation or benefits.
