Job Summary

The Radiology Specialist will coordinate and direct all compliance functions within the Diagnostic Imaging Department, ensuring adherence to regulatory agencies' standards. This role will monitor and report on Patient Safety and Quality activities, oversee radiation badges, and organize continuing education for the department. The Specialist will also review coding and billing codes, dictated radiology reports, technologist charging, and documentation in EPIC, identifying areas for non-compliance. Additionally, this role will assist with revenue cycle activities and maintain departmental policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies' standards, develop and submit compliance plans, and maintain records.
  • Revenue Cycle: Conduct routine audits, write SR tickets, and work OneChart modifications.
  • Radiation Safety: Maintain the QA Program, update policies, and ensure QA of lead apparel.
  • Continuing Education: Organize and develop department-specific Health Stream modules.
  • Record Management: Maintain department policies and procedures, staff licensures, and CPR.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years' radiology/clinical experience or 5 years' experience in a more advanced operational role within the Imaging department.
  • Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
  • Experience in managing Imaging records/processes or a more advanced operational role within the Imaging department.
  • CRT - Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or CRT - Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross.
