Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identification and physician orders to ensure accurate and safe imaging procedures.
  • Provide clear and concise procedural information to patients and their families, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared for each exam.
  • Acquire and document accurate patient histories, ensuring comprehensive and up-to-date medical records.
  • Ensure MRI safety forms are completed and reviewed with patients prior to each exam, guaranteeing a safe and secure environment.
  • Safely and proficiently operate MR imaging equipment, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Place IVs as required for contrast media injections, demonstrating expertise and attention to detail.
  • Perform MRI procedures according to established protocols, ensuring accurate and efficient imaging results.
  • Monitor patients during exams, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Ensure STAT requests are relayed to radiologists in a timely manner, facilitating prompt and accurate diagnosis.
  • Maintain a clean and organized exam room, adhering to infection control and safety standards.
  • Utilize effective communication and collaboration with medical staff, management, and technical support teams.
  • Accurately and efficiently use hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited radiography program.
  • 1-3 years of clinical experience beyond staff radiographer level preferred.
  • ARRT Registered (MR) and/or completion of an accredited radiology program, with registry eligibility to take the ARRT(MR) certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
