Job Summary

This position is located at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of safety procedures and operations, as well as experience in grounds maintenance and minor repairs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform minor grounds maintenance tasks, including ensuring entrances and exits are clear and surfaces are maintained according to safety requirements.
  • Operate hand and foot controls, and perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing, kneeling, and standing.
  • Use trade practices associated with landscaping and painting, and perform minor repairs of buildings and equipment.
  • Monitor access to the facility and grounds to ensure security is maintained.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure duties can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner.
  • Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools.
  • Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds and, occasionally heavier items with assistance.
Education

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
