POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead Case Manager is primarily tasked with overseeing Case Managers and ensuring effective daily programming. This role may also involve managing a limited caseload, providing case management services to Native Hawaiian participants and families affected by human trafficking, conducting outreach to recruit participants, and facilitating workshops and discussions to raise community awareness about human trafficking.

EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of the Native Hawaiian community, human trafficking issues, and available community resources is essential.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of two years, up to four years of relevant experience.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience.
  • A minimum of two years in human or employment services.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Supervisory experience is necessary to provide administrative, clinical, and reflective guidance to Case Managers. A deep understanding of human trafficking issues, including victim rights, social barriers, employment challenges, educational obstacles, and service access barriers is required. The ability to empathize with victims' needs is crucial. Cross-cultural competency in working with limited and/or non-English speakers is important. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary, along with a valid driver's license, current no-fault insurance, and access to an insured vehicle.

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • A valid driver's license from Hawaii, a clean driving record, and the use of a personal vehicle for participant transportation as needed.
  • The role requires availability to be on-call 24/7.
  • This position is subject to a criminal background check, and continued employment is contingent upon a clear record.
  • Successful completion of CPR, CPI, and/or van driving training is required to ensure the ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Completion of CPI classes or other Behavioral Management certification may be contract-mandated for continued employment.
  • Successful completion of First Aid training is also required.
  • This role involves supervising one or two employees or directing a small work group, assigning routine tasks, and spending significant time performing similar work as team members.
  • Regular communication with subordinates, other departments, and external organizations is necessary to provide or obtain information and reports, requiring tact and discretion. Presentation of data and reports at meetings may be required.
