About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Quality and Product Improvement Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, process improvement, and technical support. They will be responsible for providing process control support, coordinating development programs, and identifying cost-savings and process improvement projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of quality assurance principles and practices. They will be responsible for ensuring that the quality of forgings meets customer, governmental, and Howmet specifications.

  • Support process control activities related to forgings.
  • Coordinate development programs to facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify cost-savings and process improvement projects and move them from concept to implementation.
  • Develop and maintain processes, specifications, procedures, and equipment to meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
  • Interface with customer representatives on product, process, and metallurgical quality issues.
  • Monitor and interface with outside suppliers for compliance to stated requirements.
  • Act as project manager for multifunctional teams on process and product improvement activities.
  • Analyze instability in forging processes through analysis of non-conforming material data.
  • Troubleshoot issues through validation of critical process variables and recipe management.
  • Support operations to improve quality process reliability and improvement.
  • Maintain and improve floor level work instructions for process improvements.
  • Team with other departments during new item design and launch to achieve first pass yield.
  • Support efforts to train production staff on process basics.
  • Establish and improve work instructions to ensure EHS safety objectives.
  • Troubleshoot, manage, and implement technical inputs for incident investigation and corrective action.

The estimated salary for this role is around $100,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on location and experience. This figure is based on industry standards and comparable roles in the manufacturing sector.
