Responsibilities

The Anesthesia Technician plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care during the perioperative phase by assisting with clinical anesthesia tasks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Anesthesiologist. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing necessary supplies and equipment during anesthetic procedures to ensure safe patient care.
  • Conducting preoperative checks on anesthesia machines as per FDA guidelines.
  • Troubleshooting anesthesia equipment as needed.
  • Initiating intravenous lines for patients.
  • Operating the intraoperative blood recovery system and three-dimensional image-guidance systems.
Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

2. Preferred coursework in anatomy/physiology and basic chemistry at the college level.

3. Prior experience in an operating room setting is preferred.

4. Current BLS (AHA) certification is mandatory.
