Job Overview

The IT Project Portfolio Analyst will lead and drive the Portfolio Management Lifecycle for IT requested work from assigned business units. This role will partner with business and IT leadership to monitor project and portfolio data using Microsoft tools, ensuring governance, resource management, time management, and reporting compliance to Portfolio Process standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and manage incoming demand, priorities, and business case justification to inform portfolio decisions

• Manage governance around intake processes, demand sizing, steering/business approval, and prioritization

• Facilitate ideation processes with business partners

• Create, prepare, and distribute status update reports to business partners and executive leadership

• Develop reports, charts, and graphs, and present to executive management

• Collaborate with key business partners, technical teams, and internal solution architects to identify scope of work and size/effort for high-level business scope

• Report and analyze business roadmaps and project portfolios against project intake requests, evaluating remaining budget and capacity constraints

• Function as an advocate to enforce structure linking IT processes and resources to organizational strategies and objectives

• Evaluate portfolio demand intake workflow processes and provide recommendations

• Assist in resource capacity needs and changes in the overall portfolio

• Utilize WR SharePoint form, Azure Dev Ops, and Power BI for data management and reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of IT Governance/Portfolio Management experience

• 5+ years of experience in project coordination, management, and/or project delivery accountability

• 3+ years of data analytics experience

• Demonstrated leadership skills in decisiveness, integrity, relationship building, critical thinking, and problem-solving

• Ability to coach, mentor, manage, and provide clear direction to resources and stakeholders

• Strong business acumen, business planning skills, and leadership capability

• Initiative-taking and solution-oriented when managing issues

• Comfortable communicating with VP-level managers

• Significant interaction with cross-functional departments within the company, collaboration across other technology portfolios, and excellent communication and relationship management skills to influence and resolve issues

• Experience in presenting to small and medium-sized groups, and communicating and educating others on new processes

• Prepare, review, and consolidate IT budgets and forecasts, with tight tracking and management over project budget-to-actual-to-forecast

• Attentive to detail with focus on accurate and timely results, but with a keen sense of the big picture

• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communications skills with the ability to translate information into understandable terms for a variety of audiences

• Organized and able to prioritize tasks, responding effectively to competing needs

• Attentive and reactive to customer needs and concerns

• Contribute to team effort and individual achievement

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; expert in Excel and PowerPoint

• Preferred: Project Management Certifications, Agile Scrum experience, Proficient in Data Analytics, Excellent soft skills
