About the Role

Amergis is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a Mammography Technologist, you will play a critical role in helping detect breast cancers early, improving the chances of successful treatment and survival.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate
  • Explain mammography procedures to patients and answer any questions or concerns
  • Position patients, using immobilization when necessary
  • Calculate exposure factors and assist physicians
  • Perform quality control functions related to mammography
  • Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed
  • Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic techniques if appropriate
  • Develop mammography film and match with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation
  • Assist in maintenance and compilation of statistical data
  • Adhere to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies, and procedures
Requirements
  • Current State License or Certificate in the state where they will be working
  • One (1) year of experience as a Mammography Technician preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to accurately communicate with patients
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Licenses and Certifications
  • WA State Rad Tech registration, ARRT (M)
