Job Overview:


Are you prepared to drive meaningful change? The California State Sheriffs Association is in search of an Inmate Rehabilitation Director to spearhead initiatives aimed at transforming lives within the Rehabilitation and Custodial Alternatives Division.

In collaboration with the Sheriff's leadership team, the Inmate Rehabilitation Director will be tasked with crafting a comprehensive strategic plan that encompasses the following:

  • Enhancement of in-custody rehabilitation, vocational, and educational programs and services.
  • Development of extensive out-of-custody programs and services.
  • Expansion of the collaborative college program.

Essential Qualifications:


A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Behavioral Science, Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, or a closely related discipline, coupled with a minimum of three (3) years of managerial experience in a civilian or governmental law enforcement agency. This experience should include directing or overseeing the delivery of services related to law and justice rehabilitation programs, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity. A Master's Degree is highly regarded.
