Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

At Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg, we are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for examining patients with breathing-related conditions, conducting diagnostic testing, and developing treatment plans in consultation with physicians. The ideal candidate will have excellent critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
  • Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
  • Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
  • Educate patients and families about their illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources.
  • Monitor, receive, stock, and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
  • Maintain storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
  • Disassemble, clean, and sterilize equipment, and perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Current and active Respiratory Therapist License in the State of Tennessee.
  • Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP).
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with a night shift schedule, requiring 10+ hours of work per shift, with rotation of weekends.
