Job Summary

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles, KY. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients, including measuring lung capacity, analyzing blood samples, and delivering therapy per plan of care.

Responsibilities
  • Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
  • Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
  • Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
  • Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance, assessing patient condition and delivering appropriate treatment.
  • Educate patients and families about their illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources.
  • Monitor, receive, stock, and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
  • Maintain storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
  • Disassemble, clean, and sterilize equipment, and perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Associate's Degree
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Graduate of a program discipline in Respiratory Care Required
  • Required Skills: CRT or RRT, Current and active with the KY Board of Respiratory Care, Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days
