We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Meat Department Associate to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and assisting in reaching sales and profit goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for customers, answering questions and making product recommendations to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Meat Preparation: Cut meats to customer specifications using proper cutting equipment, and offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Inventory Management: Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise, and report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Food Safety: Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, and practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting any issues to the appropriate department or store manager.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the department manager and other team members to achieve sales and profit goals, and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a retail or food service environment preferred.
  • Skills: Effective communication skills, basic math skills, and ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Certifications: Current food handlers permit required.
