Histology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technologist to join our team at HCA Healthcare. As a Histology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality laboratory services to our patients.

• Analyze testing samples according to established protocols and perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Embed tissue specimens in correct orientation and section paraffin blocks at an average rate of blocks per hour.
• Produce sections of correct thickness with minimal cutting artifacts and perform routine H & E stain according to Department procedure.
• Recognize inferior staining and correct the problem to meet standards, and perform any on-site special stains and histo-chemical methods.
• Prepare smears, cell blocks, and Cytospin preparations, and ensure correct Cytology and Pathology numbers are entered in the computer under the right prefix.

• A 2 Year/Associate Degree in Science or a 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is beneficial.
• A State of Florida Technologist License or the ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
• Less than one year of experience in Histology; 1-3 years of experience in a high volume histology setting is preferred.
