Job Summary

The Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home Inc is seeking a highly skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our dietary services department, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring that all meals are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
  • Food Service Operations: Oversee the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring that all food is handled and served in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Staff Development and Training: Provide training and guidance to dietary staff on food preparation, presentation, and service standards.
  • Inventory Management: Manage food inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies, to ensure that all necessary ingredients are available.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all meals meet our high standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: One year of experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during working hours. The successful candidate will be required to work beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
