Job Summary:
As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures. Your expertise will be essential in preparing the operating room, assisting the surgeon, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exercise critical thinking and independent judgment in patient care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist the surgeon using proper techniques, ensuring patient preparation for procedures and supporting the RN in accurately and timely carrying out physician orders.
  • Coordinate patient care needs with the preoperative team, adhering to medication administration policy and verifying transfers.
  • Organize and prioritize the surgical plan of care efficiently, providing clear and concise reports when transferring patient care to another provider.
  • Identify risk factors and ensure patient safety, implementing measures to prevent environmental hazards and collaborating with the RN to accurately document sharps, needles, and instrument counts.
  • Manage sharps safely to prevent injury, improve medication use safety through proper labeling and hand hygiene, and follow Universal Protocol policy consistently.
