The Construction Technician-Line Worker is a critical member of our team at Windstream, responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining poles, cables, and conduits. This role requires a strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, repair, and maintain poles, cables, and conduits to ensure reliable telecommunications services.
  • Field Work: Perform field work, including climbing poles, using bucket trucks, and working in confined spaces.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate various construction equipment, including digger derricks, bucket trucks, and backhoes.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all work meets industry standards and company quality control procedures.
  • Safety Protocols: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 year of outside plant construction experience, including installation, repair, and maintenance of poles and buried or aerial cable.
  • Certifications: OSHA 10 Hour Safety Course and Buck Squeeze (Pole Climbing Certifications).
  • Skills: Proficient at operating various construction equipment and able to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in all weather conditions, year-round, and to work in confined spaces and at heights.
