Your Role: As a Senior Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our projects are estimated accurately and competitively priced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the preconstruction process and managing the team, reviewing project documentation, and building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Presenting budgets and proposals, strategizing opportunity assignments, and developing project timelines.
  • Managing subcontractor proposals, resolving design conflicts, and leading project transition meetings.
  • Identifying new business opportunities, conducting employee evaluations, participating in business development, and mentoring estimating staff.
  • Gathering essential construction documents and analyzing blueprints to create detailed scopes of work and estimates.
  • Collaborating with leadership to identify business development opportunities and recommend improvements to workflow processes.
  • Creating tailored lists of subcontractors and vendors, distributing plans and scope documents to secure competitive pricing, and communicating effectively to obtain comprehensive bids.
  • Consolidating all costs, including materials, production, and shipping, to determine the final proposed bid price.
  • Maintaining clear communication with clients regarding Requests for Information (RFIs) and clarifications.
  • Participating in necessary handoff meetings upon bid acceptance to ensure smooth information transfer.
  • Reviewing vendor offers and quotes to identify the best options.
  • Building relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.).
  • Managing documentation for the submittal process, including reviewing architectural drawings, drafting shop drawings, resolving layout conflicts, coordinating appliances/equipment, and handling mockup samples.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of project estimation experience with a bachelor’s degree in construction management.
  • Strong knowledge of general construction products, systems, services, and procedures.
  • A natural leader who inspires and motivates others to excel.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt based on feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
