Job Opportunity: Teaching Students with Visual Impairments

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher for the Visually Impaired to join our dynamic educational team at Soliant.

About the Role

This position involves providing specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, helping them achieve their full potential in both academic and life skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a commitment to making a difference in the lives of students with visual disabilities, and a strong understanding of specialized teaching techniques and tools for visually impaired learners.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans that cater to each student's unique needs and abilities.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, using adapted teaching methods and materials.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Teach students skills such as Braille, adaptive technology, mobility, and orientation.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular assessments, feedback, and reports to families and school administration.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (a focus on visual impairments is highly preferred).
  • Certification in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) is required.
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments, including knowledge of Braille and/or assistive technology, is highly desirable.
Salary and Benefits
