About the PositionWe are seeking an experienced System Engineer to join our Paint and Final Assembly Systems division in Southfield, MI. The ideal candidate will have a background in process equipment design and a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and estimating process equipment, including paint booths, ovens, and work decks. They will work closely with customers to develop equipment layouts and process equipment schematics, as well as creating technical documentation for sales proposals.
This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. The successful candidate will also be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on problem-solving and adaptability.
Responsibilities- Analyze customer technical specifications and coordinate in-house estimating activities
- Develop layouts and process equipment schematics for paint process equipment
- Coordinate major subcontractors, including conveyors, paint application, and paint mix
- Develop detailed estimate spreadsheets for projects, management cost analysis, and customer bid forms
- Conduct technical presentations and provide clarification to customers and other departments
