About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Distribution Specialist to join our team at destinationone Consulting. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power distribution systems in Blaine, Washington.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: You will be responsible for installing temporary and permanent underground and overhead residential and commercial single- and three-phase power systems, as well as laying wire, pulling, and connecting wiring as necessary to install and activate watt-hour meters.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: You will investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve customer power complaints such as power outages, low or no voltage, radio/TV interference, line arcing, and related conditions.
  • Worksite Safety: You will perform duties in accordance with sound safety practices to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.

 

Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A qualified Journeyman Lineman certification is also necessary.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: You must possess knowledge of the field of assignment, physical ability sufficient to perform thoroughly and accurately the full scope of responsibility, and ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team member.

 

Licenses and Certifications
  • A valid State of Washington Driver's License and appropriate insurance at the time of hire for work-related travel and operation of city vehicle.
  • A valid Washington State Commercial Driver's License Class A with Tankers (or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire).
  • A State of Washington Flagger's Certificate.
  • First Aid and/or CPR certification.
  • A valid State of Washington Journeyman Electrical Lineman Certificate.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The work environment will involve varied outdoor settings with exposure to all types of weather, hazardous conditions, and uneven terrain. Frequent use of protective clothing and/or personal protection devices is required.
