Job Overview

Volt is immediately hiring for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to work onsite in East Peoria, IL. This role involves designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components.

About the Role

This full-time position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design and product development. Additionally, 2+ years of project management experience are necessary.

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools (e.g., Finite Element Analysis). Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science, is also required.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and products.
  • Conduct research and analysis to determine the feasibility, performance, and cost-effectiveness of mechanical designs.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.
  • Perform simulations and calculations to evaluate the structural integrity, thermal performance, and mechanical behavior of designs.
  • Select materials and components based on engineering requirements, cost considerations, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Prototype and test mechanical systems and prototypes to validate performance and functionality.
