Key Responsibilities:- Deliver evidence-based nursing care to enhance the comfort and well-being of urology patients.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, including cystoscopy, vasectomy, and bladder biopsies.
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures, and provide education on urologic conditions and wellness.
- Triage patients and determine suitable dispositions and follow-up actions.
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, and suture or staple removal as directed by physicians.
- Manage narcotic records and policies, and assist with pre-authorization and coordination of surgeries and diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor supplies and par levels, and perform proper preparation and disposition of laboratory specimens.
- Follow The Portland Clinic guidelines for documentation and HIPAA regulations.
- RN graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Valid Oregon Nursing License.
- CPR certification.
- Previous clinic and/or hospital experience.
- Previous urology experience.
- Basic understanding of infection control.
- Understanding of the legalities of charting and telephone conversations.
