Urology RN Job Description

At The Portland Clinic, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and improving the health and well-being of our community. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Urology RN to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver evidence-based nursing care to enhance the comfort and well-being of urology patients.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, including cystoscopy, vasectomy, and bladder biopsies.
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures, and provide education on urologic conditions and wellness.
  • Triage patients and determine suitable dispositions and follow-up actions.
  • Provide wound care, dressing changes, and suture or staple removal as directed by physicians.
  • Manage narcotic records and policies, and assist with pre-authorization and coordination of surgeries and diagnostic procedures.
  • Monitor supplies and par levels, and perform proper preparation and disposition of laboratory specimens.
  • Follow The Portland Clinic guidelines for documentation and HIPAA regulations.
Requirements:
  • RN graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Valid Oregon Nursing License.
  • CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous clinic and/or hospital experience.
  • Previous urology experience.
  • Basic understanding of infection control.
  • Understanding of the legalities of charting and telephone conversations.
