Position Overview
As a key member of our Geomatics team, you will prioritize precision in data collection and analysis. Our mission is to measure, process, and interpret spatial data to delineate land boundaries effectively. We offer a comprehensive suite of geomatics, surveying, and mapping services, and we invite you to collaborate with a team of innovative professionals dedicated to enhancing safety and efficiency in our work.
Your Role
You will leverage your expertise in boundary survey principles, Record Maps, Surveys, and ALTAs. Your self-motivation and ability to work autonomously or lead a field crew will be essential in gathering data using GPS/GNSS and traditional surveying methods. Additionally, you will be responsible for data reduction and the drafting of final survey deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Sign and seal survey documents, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee the technical aspects of various projects, potentially managing survey initiatives.
- Engage with clients to discuss ongoing projects, assess firm performance, and explore new business opportunities.
- Lead and coordinate field crew activities, providing clear job assignments and daily oversight of work outputs.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and project management, along with conducting final reviews for all surveys (QA/QC).
- Perform additional duties as assigned that align with your expertise.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven leadership and communication skills with both team members and clients.
- Strong collaborative abilities, enabling efficient teamwork and the training of others.
- In-depth knowledge of local surveying regulations, principles, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in survey processing software.
- Familiarity with technical software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with field instruments, GPS, and robotic total stations.
- Ability to tackle complex challenges using sound judgment and innovative thinking.
- Strong mathematical skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Geomatics, Surveying, or a related field, along with state/provincial licensure in Land Surveying or equivalent credentials. A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required.
Work Environment
This role typically involves an office setting with extended periods of computer use. Fieldwork may require exposure to various weather conditions.
