Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Exercise Physiologist to join our Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab team at WVU Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing day-to-day patient care in our Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct exercise testing and counseling to promote patient health and wellness.
  • Assess and manage patient risk factors, including cardiovascular and pulmonary disease.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on disease-specific topics and risk modification.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Monitor and supervise patient exercise classes to ensure safety and effectiveness.
  • Document patient data and exercise progress in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or related field.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Experience in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab settings, with a strong understanding of adult education principles and cardiovascular disease treatment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or related field.
  • Experience in teaching and education, with a strong understanding of adult learning principles.
