JOB POSITION TITLE: QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

JOB POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, engages in work of moderate complexity in the inspection and compliance of manufacturing processes.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF JOB POSITION

This role requires meticulous attention to detail in the production of quality products. The position plays a crucial role in quality control and assurance throughout all stages of the manufacturing process, from raw materials to the final product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts fundamental inspections of components, materials, assemblies, and equipment to verify adherence to specified standards.
  • Utilizes Drawing Deviations (DDN), Engineering Changes (ECN), and visual aids for inspection purposes.
  • Reviews and interprets documentation for precision.
  • Reads and understands engineering schematics.
  • Maintains and operates inspection tools and equipment.
  • Contributes to the creation of Travelers and Work instructions.
  • Participates in the formulation of team objectives and goals.
  • Identifies opportunities to apply Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies (such as Lean Six Sigma) to minimize cycle times, defects, and costs.
  • Performs additional related tasks as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Typically involves movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, and repetitive motions. Regularly exerts up to 50 pounds of force, and occasionally a negligible amount of force to move objects. Requires close and color vision, as well as depth perception.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Exhibit and demonstrate behaviors aligned with Crescend's core values (Innovative, Commitment, Initiative & Considerate).

Possess strong oral and written communication skills.

Have a solid understanding of ESD control, quality standards, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing.

Ability to interpret documents, work instructions, engineering change notices, drawing deviations, and schematics.

Capability to visually distinguish colors.

Skilled in using basic mechanical measurement tools and stereomicroscopes.

Proficient in time management, troubleshooting, problem-solving, task organization, development, integration, and self-motivation.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work well in a team environment.

Familiarity with Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems is advantageous.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as outlined above. Experience in electronics inspection is a plus.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS

IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD Certifications within 6 months of employment. Certifications from the American Society of Quality are a plus.
